About the Show

Orfeo Group's Roast of Steven Barkhimer is one week away, and we have been overwhelmed with support from the Orfeo Group community. We have received tawdry testimonials, incriminating photos, shocking videos, and even a stack of police records on our friend Barkie, and we are now armed to give him a roasting he will not soon forget. All we need now is your presence. So please join us for an evening of unbridled merriment as we lambaste one of Boston's most beloved theatre artists. There will be song, dance, a pinata and, with any luck, some partial nudity. So come on out to the Lyric Stage Company of Boston on Monday, March 2nd at 7:30pm and support a new company, a good cause and a marvelous guy.

“After an unlucky spat with the weather, Orfeo is pleased to announce that we are back on track to stick Steven with skewers and Roast him like a chestnut at Christmas. ”
– Daniel Berger Jones

About Steven Barkhimer:

STEVE BARKHIMER is currently based in Boston as an actor, musician, director and instructor.

Steven played the singer/songwriter circuit in such venues as the legendary Club Passim, the Acton Jazz Cafe, the Kendall Square Café, the No-Name Coffeehouse and others, and from folk to jazz to theatrical settings, New York to New Mexico to California. Time Was is his first release of all-original compositions. Imagine the Bhagavad Gita, the Tao Te Ching, the Gospels, urban angst, bucolic bliss, and suburban seething all put in a blender, and served up with (amazingly) simple honesty, wry wit and deep feeling. Fellow songwriter Rob Siegel has said that the lyrics seem "to be written with surgical precision."

Orfeo Group, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
