Overview Who's Who Directions Video

About the Show

An outdoor barbeque performance as Shakespeare [might've] intended! Grills will be available for cooking, so feel free to come early, chuck your chuck on the barbie and toss a disc with the cast!

WARNING: This show is a non-stop roller-coaster ride through the Shakespearean canon. We ask that audience members keep all body parts inside the ride at all times, secure all loose articles, clothing, and long hair, remain seated in an upright position and hold on until the ride comes to an oh-so-Shakespearean full stop.

Extension Programming

Orfeo Group is planning an ambitious series of programming as an extension of its production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). Beginning at 6PM before every performance, Orfeo Group will present a Prelude during which local actors, directors, playwrights and arts groups will showcase their work. Fridays will feature improvisational performances by Improv Boston, and Saturdays will feature children's programming provided by Stoneham Theatre's Kids4Kids, Rebel Shakespeare and others.

The extension programming will culminate in an all day FREE festival in the park on Sunday July 26th beginning with a Kids4Kids production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at 10AM. The festival will include performances by local musicians and dance troupes, exhibitions by local arts collectives, and a Shakespeare Talk on The Music of the Spheres by Orfeo friend, Bill Barclay.

We hope that this community building exercise will not only add value to our patrons' experience, but that it will serve as a forum for collaboration and communication between artists of various media. Orfeo Group believes in the power of engaging communication, and the programs we are organizing this summer are squarely aimed at stimulating and inspiring compassion and creativity.

“Wowsa. ”
–Louise Kennedy, Boston Globe

“...[the actors'] individual qualities combine to equal one terrific troupe...Berger-Jones has matinee idol good looks, Kuttner rivals Buster Keaton in the deadpan department, and Reddick approaches John Belushi-type mania. In addition to their comic skills, they are all adept at reciting the Shakespearean language. ”
–Nancy Grossman, broadwayworld.com

“It's the actors - and some snappy directing from Steven Barkhimer - that make this "Complete Works" such a good time. Berger-Jones, Kuttner and Reddick project the shared mischievous glee of 10-year-olds. It's fun to see these three, all of whom usually perform dramatic theater, let loose in a comedy. ”
–Jenna Scherer, Boston Herald

“[The play] can range from mildly amusing to snort-soda-out-your-nose hilarious. Orfeo's version, staged in a picnic-friendly fashion on the outdoor stage normally occupied by the Publick Theatre, hits the high end of that scale. And I have the root beer stains from my son's beverage to prove it ”
